SkyJacks was appointed by Chemie-Tech to supply Temporary Suspended Platforms on the newly constructed Transnet Fuel Tanks in Cape Town, to provide access to sandblast and paint the internal and external surfaces of the tanks. At the peak of the project there were 12 platforms used on the tanks.
Kaefer contracted SkyJacks to supply 40 x 3m long Temporary Suspended Platforms for the sandblasting and painting of 10 new fuel tanks constructed by Trotech Engineering at the Vopak Terminal in Durban.
SkyJacks were appointed by SMEI to provide access to nine tanks that SMEI was building for a new gold processing plant for Evander Gold Mine near Secunda.
Time constraints, restricted space between the tanks as well as ground works made the use of scaffolding extremely difficult, so Temporary Suspended Platforms were chosen as the preferred access solution to complete tasks including welding, sand blasting and painting of the tanks.
