Construction of 600MW Boilers – Kusile Power Station
Working as a specialist subcontractor for Murray & Roberts Power and Energy the contract called for the installation, maintenance and moving of temporary suspended platforms ranging in size from 6m to 9m during the construction of Kusile’s huge boilers.
By replacing traditional scaffolding with the installation of a 12m Sky Climber platform in their boiler, SkyJacks were able to reduce both costs and the outage time of internal boiler inspections at GNPower Mariveles Coal Plant Ltd. Co. in the Philippines.
Sappi Saiccor Recovery Boiler Construction
Murray & Roberts Power and Energy appointed SkyJacks as a specialist subcontractor to provide access to install the burners and to weld boiler panels and boiler tubes on Sappi Saiccor’s new Recovery Boiler in Umkomaas, KwaZulu-Natal.
This custom 15m x 18m 4-Tier temporary Suspended Platform system was designed and installed for Eskom at Kendal Power Station to give access to all four walls of the boiler to carry out repairs to the soot blowers.
The quick installation time and overall effectiveness of the design resulted in significant cost savings for Eskom.
