In order for the contractor to access the internal walls of the 10m diameter ore silo at Harmony Gold Doornkop Mine to carry our repair work, a 2m standard platform was suspended off I-beams to allow the contractor to high pressure wash the silo to remove rocks and gravel.
A custom-designed and built 1.8m x 1.3m platform was installed in KEM JV Mine’s Joint Shaft to give the contractor access to the old lift shaft to install an escape way in the shaft.
